Message From The President

Having been a part of Fontbonne Ministries since its founding in 2000 and now today as President and Chair of the Board, I feel I have a unique perspective.

From the very beginning, these six ministries met the needs of the “dear neighbour” and we endeavor to continue to fill in gaps wherever they appear.

As you will read in this report, some of the areas fulfilled by Fontbonne Ministries include: nourishment, creativity, relationships, family and spiritual growth.

With an eye to the future, we are taking steps to further the mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto for the next decade and beyond. One of these measures includes hiring an executive director. In September 2018, we welcomed Ben Vozzolo to Fontbonne Ministries. Ben comes to us with many years of experience working for healthcare organizations and participating on non-profit boards of directors.

As well, in addition to incorporating feedback from participants, staff and volunteers into our programs, we proactively seek out collaborations with community, regional and city-wide partners. These successful partnerships such as Studio on the Hill’s continued work with Grant House, a residential program for women in need, allow us to foster the best possible outcomes for our participants and the wider communities served by Fontbonne Ministries.

So, where do we go from here? We continue to work closely with non-profit organizations, women & men religious, volunteers, government agencies and of course, our donors. Your support, donations and prayers allow us to be agile and adaptable in our response. We extend our sincere appreciation.

Congregational Leader, Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto

Fontbonne Ministries offers diverse programs that are welcoming and inclusive. The charity was founded in 2000 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto, a community of women who, through their compassionate presence, respond to various needs. Fontbonne Ministries continues, with the Sisters, their mission of reflecting the love of God and neighbour.
